Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson saluted his players for sticking to the job in hand during a thrilling 24-20 win at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
The Roosters will be targeting the NRL grand final in 2022 and showed their battling qualities when coming from behind to win.
Speaking after the win Robinson was impressed with the way the Broncos played, but was even more impressed with the way his side stuck to their guns.
They were trailing 10-0 at one point, but inspired by Joseph Manu, who scored a second-half brace of tries, they came roaring back.
In games gone by the Roosters may have rolled over. But not on Friday night.
"I loved the game. Thought it was a great game, the Broncos nailed the game tonight. They came out and lots of guys had their best games of the year tonight and I loved it from our factor," Robinson told reporters after the game.
"The team didn't waver. We had some tries scored against us but the team didn't waver."
Meanwhile Broncos coach Kevin Walters felt his side deserved more from the game and was pleased with the character of his players. And he feels they are heading the right way.
"Thought we probably deserved to win tonight to be honest but rugby league doesn't always give you what you deserve," Walters added. "If we provide that character every week we're going to be a good footy side."
