Antonio Conte launched a scathing attack on the Tottenham owners and claimed his players were "selfish" after the 3-3 draw at Southampton on Saturday.

Tottenham were heading for a routine victory over rock-bottom Southampton at St Mary's after taking a 3-1 lead with just over 15 minutes left to play.

However, strikes from former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott and Saints captain James Ward-Prowse saw the game end 3-3 on the south coast.

Conte questions commitment

Tottenham sit fourth in the Premier League but Newcastle in fifth and Liverpool in sixth have their sights firmly fixed on the north London club.

Conte didn't hold back after the full-time whistle as he unloaded both barrels at the club’s owners and players.

When asked on his theory for why Tottenham continue to fall short of their targets, Conte said: "Because they are used to it here. They are used to it. They don't play for something important. They don't want to play under pressure. They don't want to play under stress. It is easy in this way. Tottenham's story is this. Twenty years the owner is here and they never won something, but why?"

The Italian went on to criticise his players, saying: "There are 10 games to go and some people think we can fight. Fight for what with this spirit, this attitude, this commitment? What? For seventh, eighth, 10th place?

"We are 11 players that go into the pitch. I see selfish players, I see players that don't want to help each other and don't put their heart.

"I am not used to this position. I'm really upset and everyone has to take their responsibility."
