Australian Racing - Racing: Morton books Collett for Doncaster ride

Alysha Collett has been booked by trainer Dan Morton to ride his upwardly mobile mare Kissonallforcheeks in Saturday's Group 1 Doncaster Mile.

The daughter of Written Tycoon will be aiming for an interstate feature-race double after her win in the Group 3 Shaftesbury Handicap at Flemington on 12th March, and is currently a 20/1 chance for this weekend's feature contest. You can follow the action via our Sports Live Streaming platform.

Morton decided to skip last weekend's Group 2 Emancipation Stakes at Rosehill in favour of the Doncaster, a decision that worked out well with Rosehill subsequently abandoned after three races.

"I did a bit of homework before I committed, but she came pretty well recommended to me by Dean Murphy, Damien Lane's manager," Morton said.

"I've known him for years and he was trying to help out. Dean says she really holds her own, rides light, so there are no issues there.

"(Chris) Waller puts her on in the big handicaps and she was a leading Kiwi rider before going to Singapore.

"She went really well there and has been in Australia for a couple of years. I'm very happy to have her on and she gave Kissonallforcheeks a good gallop on Saturday and will have another on Tuesday morning."
