Trainer Peter Moody guided Black Caviar to 25 unbeaten runs throughout her career and he now has high hopes for another of his horses.
That horse in question is Brereton, who Moody believes will make a mockery of his 14/1 odds when lining up for Saturday’s Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm.
Brereton making step up in trip
Although it will be the first time Brereton has raced beyond 1,000 metres in his five starts, his trainer does not have any worries about him over the longer distance.
"I'm really looking forward to getting him out (in distance), he's had four runs, this is his first run beyond 1,000 metres and I think he's been crying out for it," Moody said on his podcast, Moody On The Mic.
"He missed the run at 1,200 metres the other day, I elected not to run him from the bad draw, but I think, from gate 12, he'll travel up in the first five or six and he'll run extremely well and I'm actually expecting Brereton to win the race."

Looking at home in Queensland
Brereton, who has a win in Group 3 company to his name, has been in Queensland for more than a month, having had the one run at Eagle Farm when he finished third in the Listed Dalrello Stakes on 30th April, but he has not been seen since.
"The fact that he's gone in on fresh legs and had a couple of nice gallops in recent weeks has really brought him on nicely," Moody explained as reason for his optimism.
"I think, with the blinkers on as well, first run in the hood, he'll just bounce and put himself in certainly the front half of the field and a bit of J. Kah magic and bob's your uncle."
