Superstar forward Connor McDavid re-took the NHL scoring lead in a 5-2 win against Dallas Stars before stating the Edmonton Oilers are feeling good about themselves.
With victory over Dallas on Wednesday, the Oilers - 20/1 to win the Stanley Cup - have won three straight and nine of their past overall 11 (9-1-1).
McDavid moves past Huberdeau
Twenty-five-year-old McDavid had a goal and two assists against the Stars to reach 113 points (43 goals, 70 assists) in 76 games this season, two more than Florida Panthers’ Jonathan Huberdeau (30 goals, 81 assists).
McDavid also reached 70 assists for the fourth time in the NHL, as the Oilers also extended their home point streak to 12 (11-0-1).
He is in a seventh season with the Oilers after being drafted first-overall in the 2015 NHL draft and McDavid said to the media: "We are trying to play good hockey and win games, and that is ultimately what we are focused on.
"I think guys are confident right now. Up and down the line-up, guys feel good about their own game and feel good about our team game."

After a franchise best start to the NHL season, the Oilers’ form dipped drastically and coach Dave Tippett was fired and replaced by Jay Woodcroft, who is leading an NHL team for the first time.
Under 45-year-old Tippett, Edmonton have recovered going 22-8-3 and their 45-26-6 record sits them second in the Pacific Division four points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings in third.
