Love Island 2023 is less than a week away and the first 10 contestants that will be heading into the villa have been announced.
The second winter series, which will get underway on Monday 16th January in Cape Town, South Africa, will also be the first to be presented by Maya Jama, who has replaced Laura Whitmore as host.
With a presenter in place, it is now time to reveal who will be heading into the villa next week, with a semi-pro rugby player, actress and farmer among the contestants that will be looking for love and perhaps causing some drama along the way.
|What:||Love Island 2023|
|Where:||Cape Town, South Africa|
|When:||16th January 2023 - TBC|
|How to watch:||ITV2|
|Odds:||Top Woman: Anna-May Robey 3/1, Olivia Hawkins 3/1, Tanya Manhenga |
Top Man: Kai Fagan 3/1, Ron Hall 3/1, Shaq Muhammad 3/1
|Occupation:||Biomedical science student and influencer|
Biomedical science student Tanya cannot wait to enter the villa as she thinks being surrounded by a variety of different people will give her the best chance of finding a boyfriend.
However, those hoping to be the 22-year-old's Mr Right will have to keep their socks on, as she has revealed that guys that go barefoot in the house give her the ick.
|Occupation:||Science and PE teacher|
Brains and brawn, teacher Kai could well be the full package, as not only does he claim to have three degrees from three different universities, but he is also quite the athlete.
The 24-year-old has previously played rugby 7s for Jamaica, while he is currently a semi-professional rugby union star with Burnage RFC.
Makeup artist Lana is no stranger to the limelight, with her job having seen her interact with a number of famous faces, while she also starred in an episode of Benidorm as a six-year-old.
An old romantic at heart, Lana has also admitted to falling in love quickly, which could mean that a whirlwind romance is on the cards for her in the villa.
Essex heartthrob Ron will make history when he enters the villa, as he will become the first partially-sighted contestant to feature on Love Island.
The financial advisor lost the sight in one of his eyes following an accident while playing football as a child, but he says it does not hinder him any way and he uses it as "a good conversation starter" especially when it comes to meeting potential partners.
At 20, Welsh beauty Anna-May will be the youngest contestant starting out on this year's series and she has revealed her mum was one of the main reasons she decided to come on the show.
"My mother is bugging me, she's like, ‘You need to find a boyfriend,'" the payroll administrator said.
Whether she finds that significant other on Love Island remains to be seen.
No not that Will Young, but this 23-year-old farmer is hoping to remain evergreen throughout his Love Island journey after admitting his work schedule does not make finding a relationship easy.
The Buckinghamshire beau is a big fan of meditating and he is hoping a relaxed approach will bring him love in the villa.
If you are looking for someone to cause a stir in the villa then perhaps hairstylist Tanyel is your girl, as she has described herself as "hard to get, confident, funny, charismatic, good looking and happy".
The 26-year-old is also not after a "pretty boy" saying they give her the "ick" while her dream man would be Channing Tatum, although it is unlikely the Hollywood star will be making an appearance in the villa this year.
|Occupation:||Airport security officer|
Airport security officer Shaq has high expectations for his villa experience, saying he hopes to "come out with my future wife".
Described as the "talk of the terminal" at his day job, Shaq appears to be another member of the Channing Tatum fan club, revealing one of his favourite films is Dear John.
|Occupation:||Ring girl and actress|
Olivia is another member of the cast that has previous experience of being in the limelight, with some of her credits including starring in a James Bond film alongside Daniel Craig and appearing in music videos for Craig David and Tom Zanetti.
The part-time ring girl has also been a body double for actresses such as Michelle Keegan and Emma Watson, but she is now ready to play her own leading role.
Completing the 2023 line-up is television salesman Haris from Doncaster, who will now be starring on the box rather than selling them.
Haris may have been the last of the 10 contestants to be confirmed, but he will be hoping that it is not a case of last in, first out once he arrives in Cape Town.
