Backing up the Boost

Tonight's derby pits two of the Premier League's most out of form sides against each other, although Everton will make the short trip to Anfield with renewed confidence after new manager Sean Dyche was able to orchestrate an unlikely victory over Arsenal last time out.

It's been a difficult start to Anfield life for Dutchman Gakpo, who has failed to score for Liverpool in his first six appearances in all competitions since transferring from PSV Eindhoven in January.

Getting off the mark against Everton, just as compatriot Virgil van Dijk was able to to do on his Anfield debut back in 2018, would be the perfect way for the 23-year-old to kickstart his Liverpool career.

With no love lost between these two teams, it would also come as little surprise should referee Simon Hooper prove to be a busy man under the Anfield lights tonight.
