After setting a franchise record for points in a season, defenceman Roman Josi stated he's enjoying life as Captain of the Nashville Predators.
The Predators, 22/1 to win the Stanley Cup, beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Thursday with Josi recording three assists to reach 87 points (19 goals, 68 assists) in 68 games - passing the previous club record set by Paul Kariya (85 points; 31 goals, 54 assists) in 2005/06.
His triple-point night against the Senators was his 12th of the season, the most since Paul Coffey in 1993/94 with the Red Wings (12), while the last defenceman with more was Al MacInnis (13 in 1990/91 with Calgary).
Josi is in an 11th season with the Predators, with his previous points, goals and assists best coming in 2019/20, when he recorded 65 points (16 goals, 49 assists) in 69 regular season games.
Overall with Nashville, the Swiss blue-liner has amassed 533 points (136 goals, 397 assists) in 748 regular season games.

Josi said to the media: "I love this team. I'm getting a lot of free points because guys are playing so well and guys are scoring and our powerplay is doing so well (25 per cent).
"It's just so much fun being a part of this team."
Josi's scintillating form has helped Nashville win four of their last five games, and move within four points of the St. Louis Blues for third place in the Central Division.
With a 41-25-4 record, the Predators currently hold the first Wild Card spot into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Division.
