Tyreek Hill says he and the Kansas City Chiefs "fell apart" on how little he was targeted in certain one-on-one matchups while his agent Drew Rosenhaus believes the speedy wideout wasn't fully appreciated at Arrowhead Stadium.
Hill, 14/1 to finish with the most regular season receiving yards, saw his six-year stint in Kansas City come to an abrupt end in March when the Chiefs traded him to the Miami Dolphins for a haul of five draft picks - including one first-rounder and one in the second round.
Reluctance over making the 28-year-old the highest-paid receiver in the league, which the Dolphins did as soon as he arrived in Miami, was seemingly the driver behind the Chiefs' decision to cut ties with the six-time Pro Bowler.
But Hill has now detailed some of the conversations that took place behind the scenes that appear to have fractured the relationship between the wide receiver and his first NFL team.
"If teams are gonna give us favorable one-on-one matches against their best corner, I don't see why teams don't utilize their best receiver," Hill said on the debut episode of his It Needed To Be Said podcast, per Pro Football Talk.
"And that's where probably like me and the Chiefs fell apart right there. When I'm like, yo, I don't mean to talk or be a diva in some situation, but can I see the pill some time, please? Just give me the ball, please."

Rosenhaus, who appeared on the podcast, stated that "we felt that Tyreek was underutilized and wasn't fully appreciated" by the Chiefs in 2021.
"I tried my best," Hill added, now on the topic of eliciting a better contract.
"I talked to the big man, [head coach] Andy Reid. I talked to the quarterback. I'm like, 'Look, can we make something happen? Can we make something happen? Can the guaranteed money make sense to me? Can it make sense to my family, please?'"
