Grizzly Montana made it three wins on the spin when grinding out a hard-fought victory at Hobart, much to the delight of reinsman Nathan Ford, who praised his charge for the gritty performance.
Ford produced the perfect drive when keeping Grizzly Montana up near the front throughout the contest before striking late to take the win.
Grizzly Montana, who is trained by Bianca Heenan, proved to be way too good for his rivals with a late burst of speed to wrap up a 7metre win.
“It was a tough win but I thought it was a drop in grade for him, last start he sat parked up in Launceston and they bowled along a bit,” Ford told reporters after the race.
“He has been very honest since he joining Bianca’s stable, you can drive him with a sit or put him into the race, and he is even better when he leads.”

It was not the only success for the Heenan-Ford combination at Hobart as Sunrose Master also brought home the bacon earlier in the night.
Elsewhere on the night Eye See Double impressed when leading all the way to take out the Happy Easter Pace.
“He was as good as we could get him I thought,” said trainer Ivan Belbin post-race. “He has been drawing the backline all the time, so I thought if I ran him out of class, he would get off the front and once he drew the front, I thought he would be hard to beat.”
