Manly ace Reuben Garrick showed the Sea Eagles can cope without Tom Trbojevic after he starred at fullback in the 30-6 win over the Newcastle Knights.
The Sea Eagles hope to be pushing to win the 2022 NRL grand final and are looking in good touch after winning their last three games of the season.
Much was made of the fact that Manly would be without Trbojevic against the Knights. He has been ruled out for at least a month with a knee injury.
Another injury to Tolutau Koula meant that Garrick had to take the No.1 jersey for the game against Newcastle and he filled in well.

It was a shocker of a night at the McDonald Jones Stadium as torrential rain and swirling wins made life really difficult, but Garrick coped well.
"During the week there was a lot of talk about what the weather was going to be like. And Jake Clifford must have one of the biggest boots in the comp because he put up some pearlers," Garrick told AAP.
"Honestly, for some of them I did cross my fingers. You've just got to take into account the ball is going to be slippery and there was a bit of wind there. All the hours you put in playing and training comes to the fore.”
The three wins come after Manly had lost the opening two games of the season and Garrick is delighted to be back on track.
"We've been really focused on our defence the last few weeks and that's what we wanted to get out of this win tonight," he added.
