The news that the PGA Tour had allowed a documentary crew inside its ropes for a series excited plenty of golf fans, who’d get to see their favourite stars up close and personal both on and off the course.
The even better news was that it would be made by the same team behind Drive To Survive, Netflix’s other hit documentary series around Formula 1, and tennis docu-series Break Point.
The trailer, released in January, set tails wagging further, particularly with the news that world number 1 Rory McIlroy would feature.
Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming series.
Full Swing follows more than a dozen players on and off the course throughout the 2022 PGA Tour season, chronicling their personal and professional lives, as well as their relationships within and outside of golf.
Aside from the regular season, the documentary also has access to the four majors, which were won by Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Smith.
The documentary will be released on Netflix on 15th February, with all episodes available at the same time.
The documentary series will be available exclusively on Netflix.
The series follows Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler, Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, Sahith Theegala, Joel Dahmen, Mito Pereira and Cameron Young.
The biggest names missing from the documentary are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.
Rahm said that he didn’t want to take the limelight away from some lower-profile players, while DeChambeau, already active on social media, said he felt uncomfortable donating more of his personal life to the public arena.
There will be eight episodes, all released at the same time.
