Friday’s European Accumulator: Valladolid offer La Liga value

There are no fewer than five top-flight matches across Spain, Germany, Italy and France to consider for a Friday acca on 17th March.

None of the top-four in La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 are in action, but there are some crucial games, particularly in the battles to avoid relegation.

We've selected bets from five top-flight matches to create Friday night's accumulator, which comes in at odds of 116/1.

Friday five-fold acca:

Our European five-fold selections are priced up @ 116/1:

Sassuolo to beat Spezia and over 2.5 goals @ 8/5

Borussia Monchengladbach to beat Werder Bremen @ 10/11

Atalanta to beat Empoli and under 2.5 goals @ 3/1

Valladolid to beat Athletic Bilbao @ 13/5

Lyon to beat Nantes @ 13/20

Odds were correct at the time of writing and are subject to change.

In-form Sassuolo can continue good run

Sassuolo go into Friday’s showdown with Spezia knowing a win can keep alive their hopes of clinching a top-six finish in Serie A this season.

The hosts start the weekend nine points behind sixth-placed Atalanta but looking for a fourth consecutive league win after victories over Lecce, Cremonese and Roma.

Spezia picked up a massive three points against Inter Milan last weekend, a result that moved them five points clear of the relegation zone.

That result was on home soil though and Leonardo Semplici’s men have failed to win any of their last four away games in all competitions.

Sassuolo, who have scored eight goals in their last three games, won this fixture 4-1 last season and there have been plenty of goals when these two teams have met.

There have been three or more goals in the last five encounters between the sides and Sassuolo to win and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/5

Home advantage could be key for Gladbach

Two evenly matched teams meet in Friday’s only Bundesliga game, as Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen go head-to-head.

The two sides are currently level on 30 points from 24 games, but Gladbach are a place above their opponents on goal difference.

Daniel Farke’s men have lost just one of their last six home league games, including a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich last month.

Werder have lost four of their last five Bundesliga matches – the only win coming at home to struggling Bochum at the end of February – and have lost five of their last six on the road.

It was Werder that won the reverse fixture 5-1, but you have to go back to 2010 for the last time they won a league game at Borussia Park, with Gladbach 10/11 to claim another three points.

Atalanta can edge out Empoli

The wheels have fallen off for Atalanta in recent weeks, with no wins in their last four going into Friday’s clash with Empoli.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s team have slipped to sixth after one draw and three defeats, with La Dea having failed to score in their last three matches.

The one plus for Atalanta is that their opponents are on a worse run, with Empoli without a win in seven Serie A fixtures.

The visitors are the joint-second lowest goalscorers in the Italian top flight, with just 23 goals in 26 games, and were beaten 2-0 at home in the reverse fixture in October.

An Atalanta win and under 2.5 goals in Friday’s clash can be backed at 3/1.

Hosts can dent Bilbao’s Euro hopes

It’s 14th versus ninth in La Liga’s only match on Friday, as Valladolid play host to Athletic Bilbao at the Jose Zorrilla stadium.

The visitors had been on course for European qualification for much of the season, but three defeats and one draw has left them five points outside the top six.

A win for Valladolid can move them to within two points of their opponents and they are looking to extend their unbeaten home league run to four matches.

The hosts are the joint-lowest scorers in the Spanish top flight this term, with just 19 goals, but Bilbao have failed to score in three of their last four games.

Valladolid can be backed at 13/5 to collect the three points on Friday evening.

Lyon too strong for Nantes

There might be just four places between Lyon and Nantes in the Ligue 1 table, but the gap is as big as 11 points ahead of Friday’s meeting.

The hosts have lost just one of their last eight league games and are unbeaten in their last three matches, with one win and two draws.

In contrast, Nantes haven’t won any of their last four in the league including defeats in their last two away games at PSG and Lens.

To further boost Lyon’s hopes, Alexandre Lacazette bagged two late goals in the draw at Lille last week and it’s hard to look past the 13/20 on offer for the home side.
