Manchester United have been drawn against six-time winners Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, with either Juventus or Sporting Lisbon awaiting the winners of that tie in the semi-finals.

Europa League quarter-final draw:

The draw for the last eight of this season's competition took place at UEFA HQ in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday 17th March. The quarter-finals draw is as follows:

• Manchester United (ENG) v Sevilla (SPA)
• Juventus (ITA) v Sporting Lisbon (POR)
• Bayer Leverkusen (GER) v Union Saint-Gilloise (BEL)
• Feyenoord (NED) v Roma (ITA)

Europa League semi-final draw:

The draw for the semi-finals of the Europa League was conducted at the same time at UEFA HQ.

• Juventus or Sporting Lisbon v Manchester United or Sevilla
• Feyenoord or Roma v Bayer Leverkusen or Union Saint-Gilloise

The first legs of the quarter-finals will take place on 13th April, with the return games on 20th April.

The semi-finals are scheduled to be played on 11th and 18th May, while the final will be played on Wednesday 31st May at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

Sevilla will provide stiff opposition

Sevilla beat Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Europa League three years ago and they went on to win the trophy that year. Their other triumphs in the Europa League came in 2006 - when they beat Middlesbrough in the final - before also claiming glory in 2007, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Manchester United’s sole triumph in the competition came six years ago, when they beat Ajax 2-0 in the final.

Erik ten Hag's side, who won the Carabao Cup final earlier this season and face Fulham in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, completed a 5-1 aggregate success against Real Betis in the last-16 of the Europa League on Thursday.

United are 11/8 To Win the Europa League this season while Sevilla, who edged past Fenerbahce 2-1 in the last round, are available at 9/1.

Sporting aim for repeat success

Sporting Lisbon produced a major shock in the last-16 when they defeated Premier League leaders Arsenal on penalties and their reward for getting past the Gunners is a quarter-final clash against Juventus.

The Old Lady, who secured a 3-0 aggregate victory against Freiburg in the last round, are currently seventh in the Serie A table after being docked 15 points in January following an investigation into the club's past transfer dealings.

Sporting are in a rich vein of form as they have won their last four Primeira Liga games, as well as defeating Arsenal over two legs, but they are still only fourth in their domestic league and are 15 points behind leaders Benfica.

Leverkusen will have to be at their best

Bayer Leverkusen have managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League despite enduring a mediocre domestic campaign - they are currently ninth in the Bundesliga standings.

They knocked Hungarian side Ferencvaros out in the last round and are 8/1 To Win the Europa League this season after being drawn against rank outsiders Union Saint-Gilloise (20/1).

The Belgian side have been the surprise package in the Europa League this season. They were only promoted to the top flight of Belgian football for the first time in 48 years in 2020/21 and finished second in the champions play-off last season.

They were eliminated in the third qualifying round of the Champions League this season and, after coming through the group stage of the Europa League, have knocked out Ajax and Union Berlin.

Roma handed difficult Feyenoord tie

Feyenoord produced a scintillating display to thrash Shakhtar Donetsk 7-1 on Thursday and seal an 8-2 aggregate victory.

The Dutch side, who beat Borussia Dortmund in the 2002 final, are currently at the top of the Eredivisie table and on course to clinch their first league title since 2017.

Arne Slot’s side have only lost one league game this term and are 12/1 To Win the Europa League this season after being drawn against Roma (11/2) in the quarter-finals.

Jose Mourinho’s side, who won the Europa Conference League last season, are currently fifth in the Serie A table and defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 on aggregate in the last round of the Europa League.
