NRL: Dolphins agree Wallace deal

The Dolphins have added another forward to the roster with Gold Coast Titans star Jarrod Wallace agreeing a two-year deal with the club.

The Titans are out to make the top eight this season, in what will now be Wallace’s last with the club after opting to join Wayne Bennett’s side for the start of 2023.

Experienced addition

The Dolphins now have 17 players signed up for their inaugural 2023 NRL season and believe the experience of Wallace will prove to be crucial.

Wallace has 185 NRL appearances to his name. The 30-year-old began with the Brisbane Broncos but has spent the last six years with the Titans.

Wallace played in Brisbane’s 2015 grand final loss to the Cowboys and has also represented Queensland on six occasions in State of Origin.

The player was off-contract at the end of the year and the Dolphins have swooped in.

Strong forward pack

"Jarrod is a highly-experienced front rower who has had involvement in winning State of Origin teams and has also experienced the pressure of a grand final," said Dolphins boss Terry Reader.

"We are really excited about the forward pack we have built so far, and Jarrod is just another key piece of that puzzle.

"He was also born in Queensland and has played for both the Broncos and Titans, so will understand just how big and important our local derbies against the other Queensland teams will be next year."
