NBA - US Sports: Curry ready to set the tone in offense

Stephen Curry feels he needs to be aggressive in offense if he is to help Golden State Warriors overcome Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

The series is level at 1-1 ahead of Game 3 on Wednesday.  The Warriors are 27/20 to win Game 3 in the Money Line and Curry is 20/23 to score over 28.5 points.

Curry leading the way

The Dubs talisman led the scoring with 29 points in Game 2 as Golden State hit back to draw level after blowing a 15-point lead in the series opener.

Curry was praised for his defensive performance in that game by coach Steve Kerr but the two-time MVP is well aware he can make the most impact in offense.

Curry looking to fill void

Golden State won three championships and reached five consecutive Finals Series between 2015 and 2019 and Curry played a key role in those successes.

However, in their final two championship wins Kevin Durant, now at Brooklyn Nets, was on their roster and he won the Finals MVP award in both of their most recent title wins.

Curry knows this incarnation of Golden State requires him to be more aggressive offensively and he is happy to take on that extra responsibility.

"I think it's different just cause of the way the roster's constructed," he said, as reported by Fadeaway World. "I think this year, there's definitely a need for me to be aggressive throughout the game, to create, draw attention, get shots up and just continue to apply pressure. Obviously, these first two games, it's gone well. I don't know what it will look like on the road. The rest of the series, it's just always about being confident with the ball in my hands to make plays."
