Adelaide have been boosted by the news that Rory Laird will return to action in the derby clash against Port Adelaide but Rory Sloane is still touch and go.
The Crows are priced at 13/5 to win the Showdown at the Adelaide Oval on Friday night and will have Laird back in the side to help their chances.
Laird has not played this season after breaking his hand in a trial game at the start of March and was expected to be on the sidelines for six weeks.
However the dual club champion has made a quicker than expected recovery and is set to face the Power.
Adelaide’s high performance manager Darren Burgess says the influential midfielder is now good to go.
“(He) has recovered really well, he will train on Tuesday night at our full training session and he will be available," Burgess said.
Meanwhile the club will have to leave it a couple more days before discovering whether Sloane will be able to play in the derby clash. Sloane injured his groin against Collingwood and scans have shown there is a slight issue.
"The scan showed a minor adductor issue," Burgess added. "We will give him every chance to get up and we expect him to train on Thursday and then it will be how well he feels whether he plays on Friday night."
Both the Crows and Power are winless after two games so the stakes could not be much higher.
