Essendon have been boosted by the news talented youngster Nick Cox has committed his future to the club by penning a new two-year contract.
It has been a poor start to the 2022 NRL campaign for the Bombers who are priced at 11/4 to beat Carlton next Friday.
There will have to be a huge turnaround for that to happen as they sit 2-9 for the season to leave them in 16th place on the ladder, 16 points behind the eight.
Despite their struggles this season, Essendon are still managing to lock in their stars of the future. Archie Perkins, Zach Reid, Sam Durham and Kyle Langford have all recently re-signed and now Cox has joined them.

"I'm so happy to have signed with the club for a further two years, especially with the likes of Archie and Zach also committing to the club," Cox said.
"We have a great core group of young players who have a lot of development ahead of us, but we are building something special and I can't wait to be a part of it."
Bombers general manager of list and recruiting Adrian Dodoro says the club are delighted to get the deal done.
"Nik is a wonderful signing for the club,” he said. "He has really impressed us with his development over his first two years, especially last year where he only missed one game.
"He has so much potential and can play a variety of roles so I look forward to seeing Nik continue to grow his game over the next couple of years."
