North Queensland Cowboys are sweating on the fitness of Jason Taumalolo and Kyle Feldt who both picked up injuries in the 36-6 win over the Melbourne Storm.
The Cowboys surprise start to the season continued with the win and they are looking to go on and win the grand final this season.
Todd Payten’s side are now level on points with Melbourne, sitting joint second on the ladder, but the win did come at a cost with both Taumalolo and Feldt picking up injuries in the game.
In-form winger Feldt could be “out for a while” after picking up a leg injury, while Taumalolo hurt his knee and the Cowboys are waiting to discover the full extent of the damage.
The news will also come as a big blow to Queensland coach Billy Slater with State of Origin against New South Wales fast approaching.
Meanwhile Storm coach Craig Bellamy was far from happy with the way his side failed to compete in the loss, which comes on the back of the mauling dished out by Penrith the week before.
"I thought there was a lack of competing tonight which really disappointed me," Bellamy said. "When we beat ourselves by a lack of competing and doing the little things really well, that's area for concern.
"They just outcompeted us tonight, they were smarter than us too, but that doesn't stop you from competing. That's where they were way superior to us tonight."
