Aussie Rules: Carlton march on after Swans win

Carlton coach Michael Voss believes the sky is the limit for his side as they continued their impressive start to the season with a 15-point win over Sydney on Friday night.

The Blues are pushing to finish in the top four this season and could not have started much better after winning eight of the opening 10 rounds.

Voss delighted with start

Voss is delighted with the way Carlton have started this season, his first at the helm, but is not sure whether it comes as a surprise or not.

The head coach was keen to avoid setting targets when he took charge, but could not be happier with the way the Blues are playing. Even though there is still much to learn.

"I don't know where I thought [we would] be. And I say that in all seriousness because the very first thing that I didn't want to do was put a cap on where we needed to be and what we needed to do," Voss told reporters.

"We just had a lot of work ahead of us. But certainly with now the results that they are I couldn't ask for anything more I don't think and we're learning as we go which is a real bonus for us."

Weitering praise

Meanwhile Voss also had praise for the performance of defender Jacob Weitering who did a fine job on gun Sydney forward Lance Franklin.

"He was amazing. I'm not into sitting here and lauding individuals, we all take a really selfless approach with what we try to promote inside the four walls, but you've got to acknowledge when it's right in front of you. He was amazing. He looked so safe and sure and strong," Voss said.
