Reinsman Dylan Ford says connections are happy with the condition of Be Major Threat as he prepares to return to racing in Tasmania on Sunday night.
Be Major Threat had been in good form when picking up back-to-back wins in the state before heading off to New South Wales.
Back on home soil
The Tammy Lang-trained pacer picked up two places in seven starts at Tabcorp Park, Menangle, but is now back in Tasmania and will race at Launceston on Sunday.
Be Major Threat will race in a discretionary handicap over 2200m and Ford is happy with his condition since returning home.

“He has been back over a week, he seems well enough, he has had one fast work and we were happy with him,” Ford said ahead of the race. “He was good in Sydney, he just couldn’t break that 1 (min) 51 (sec) mark, the races he was in they were going 1:49.0, 1:50.0, he was respectable, but mile races probably don’t suit him,”
Ford believes that Sunny Sanz will be the one to beat in this latest assignment. But he says it is a good place for Be Major
Threat to start.
“I think it is a good start for him,” Ford added. “He has beaten most of them, and it’s nice to be back off the front with him,”
Pardoe Plugga going well
Meanwhile Ford will also drive Pardoe Plugga in race two. He has won two of his last three starts and Ford is hoping to keep the good times rolling.
“He is racing super,” Ford added. “I have wanted to sit him up and so have the Rand family his last few starts, but just the sectionals early in those races haven’t suited him to be sat up as he is pretty quick.”
