We’re offering even bigger odds on this weekend’s huge light-heavyweight world title bout at London’s Wembley Arena.
A sensational start to the 2023 boxing calendar continues on Saturday night as one of the sport’s current pound-for-pound stars Artur Beterbiev puts his 175-pound straps on the line against the hard-hitting 9/2 chance Anthony Yarde.
Beterbiev, who has stopped all 18 of his opponents since turning professional over a decade ago, is the odds-on 1/7 favourite to retain hold of his priced WBO, WBC and IBF titles against a foe whose only ever shot at world glory ended in defeat.
However, despite Yarde’s late stoppage loss at the hands of Sergey Kovalev back in 2019, the Hackney-born fighter has told bet365 that he couldn’t be any more confident of overcoming the, up to now, irrepressible Russian.
Speaking to bet365 in the build-up to the fight, he said: “This fight ends with a knockout, by Anthony Yarde! This is a knowing energy, a knowing vibration. It is a belief within me.
“Things always happen as they are meant to happen. I pay attention to the journey, because the destination only lasts for a very small amount of time.
“The journey has been years of work. When you read a book you don’t just flick to the end because that would be boring, it’s all about the full story, the build-up.
“I am a very patient person, and I believe in my journey, and I believe that this is my time!”
The latest news, tips and interviews ahead of Saturday's bout
We’re 1/8 on the headline bout not going the distance, which shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that points have only ever come into the equation in two of Beterbiev and Yarde’s combined 43 bouts on the professional stage.
The two fighters faced-off for the final time at Friday’s official weigh-in, both tipping the scales a pound under the 175-pound limit, and both looking in pristine condition as they prepare to share the ring on Saturday night.
As ever, we’re offering Bet Boosts ahead of the fight, including an appealing 18/1 shot if you, like Yarde himself, feel he is the man to dethrone the 38-year-old light-heavyweight king.
