John Aloisi says the grand final victory over Melbourne City can help Western United grow as a football club and he wants to stay a part of it by penning a contract extension.
Western have only been in the A-League for three seasons and have copped a bit of criticism for the size of their fans base and the fact they have not got their own stadium.
But after guiding them to grand final glory, Aloisi is convinced it is just the start and believes they can now kick on to even bigger and better things.
A Nuno Reis own goal and a strike by Aleksandar Prijovic helped Western win the grand final 2-0 and Aloisi is excited to see what comes next.

"It definitely helps. It definitely helps attract players, it definitely helps attract fans," Aloisi said.of the win. "We know that we're on this journey and we're going to have a training facility, we're going to have a stadium.
"But what I loved about the players that we signed this year, it wasn't because they didn't have anywhere else to go - it was because they wanted to create history.
"I'm sure now it might be even easier because people will see that we mean business. We're not here to make numbers up. We're here to win. And that's the mentality we had all season."
Aloisi is under contract but says he would be keen to commit his future further by signing a contract extension.
"I don't know (if there's an extension coming), you'd have to ask Jason (Sourasis), our chairman that," he added. "Of course (I'd like to sign an extension). It depends, if everything's alright, I'd love to. Show me the money."
