WATCH: THE PLAYERS Championship leader Adam Svensson after second round

Prior to this week, Adam Svensson had never played at TPC Sawgrass, nor had he held a 36-hole lead on the PGA TOUR.

He's now done both. 

Two impressive rounds of 68 and 67 saw him charge to the top of the leaderboard where he's two clear of Scottie Scheffler.

The round threatened to end on a sour note after his second on the par-5 ninth veered way right into a hospitality tent, but with a free drop, the Canadian got up and down from 100 yards for birdie.
