3:10 - Coronation Cup

Pat Cooney’s verdict – We remember this horse a year ago in the Epsom Derby being a pretty luckless third to Desert Crown. I think most of us thought he was value for second place that day, we know he handles the track and gets the trip well enough.
Crucially, we know now he has trained on because on his reappearance at Meydan he was a really honourable second to Equinox, who is the highest-rated horse in the world.
I think he’ll take an awful lot of beating here.

3:10 – Epsom Handicap
Current odds: 5/1
Pat Cooney’s verdict – This is a horse than won well at the York Dante meeting last time out. It was his first run since a wind operation, it was a return to fast ground which really seems to favour him.
William Buick rode him that day and I thought he was always travelling like a winner. The handicapper only put him up two pounds for that win, and I think he was value for more than that.
