bet365’s Rob Tebbutt gains access to the inner-sanctum of Frazer Clarke’s training camp as the unbeaten heavyweight prepares for his toughest test to date this weekend.
The 2020 Olympic bronze medallist has rattled through his first three fights as a professional, registering devastating KO victories over Jake Darnell, Ariel Bracamonte and Pencho Tsvtkov since making his pro debut just over 12 months ago.
However, he is gearing up for his sternest challenge yet against ‘top 20 gatekeeper’ Kamil Sokolowski at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday night – a fight that should provide the 31-year-old with the step-up in quality he craves.
Ahead of the bout, which is presented by BOXXER and shown live on Sky Sports, ‘Big Fraze’ has been delivering his thoughts on an opponent who has shared leather with the likes of Dillian Whyte, Otto Wallin and Lucas Browne.
“I have got full respect for Kamil so I am not going to sit here and say I am going to do this, that or whatever else to him,” he told bet365 this week.
“He has been in there with the unknowns that unless you are a boxing enthusiast, you may not have heard of – but he has beaten unbeaten fighters before.
“I am training like a dog doing the work technically and physically to make sure he doesn’t upset the apple cart come November 12.”
Despite acknowledging the undoubted step up in opponent on Saturday night, Clarke, who has undertaken just six minutes of in-ring action since entering the professional ranks, is in no doubt as to how his fourth bout will end…
“Frazer Clarke walks to the ring full of confidence, gets in their really sharp and boxes the first two rounds behind the jab and then, as he tucks up, bang, the left hook goes to the body,” he confidently predicted.
“Then the double left hook goes to the head, and if that doesn’t put him down then once I have got him hurt, and get on top of him, the referee will stop the fight.”
Clarke vs Sokolowski features on the undercard of Natasha Jonas’ unified 154lb showdown with Marie Eve-Dicaire.
