WATCH: European football discussion show

This season has seen some top performances all across European football and as the football calendar approaches its business end, Steve Freeth and Graham Hunter discuss who has impressed so far, as well as who could be taking home Europe's top prizes.

Due to the World Cup causing a mid-season break, it feels an age since football fans were treated to some top level European club football, but with the international tournament now a distant memory it is time for the pinnacle of club football to make a return - starting with the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola has made it no secret that Europe's premier club trophy is the one that he wants at Manchester City, he came close in 2021 when meeting Chelsea in the final but just fell short - could this year be his, and City's, year?

The Cityzens are 7/4 to bring the silverware home but it won't be an easy task, the two star-studded squads of PSG and Bayern Munich meeting in the next round will help their cause but there is experience and talent galore.

Napoli are amongst the sides to impress this year, and find themselves a huge 13 points clear at the top of Serie A.

Luciano Spalletti's side may not have the star-power of some of their counterparts in the Champions League, but they have certainly gotten into a habit of winning and can't be ruled out - they are currently priced at 10/1 to win their first Champions League title.

The talent continues down into the Europa League, with a huge match-up between Barcelona and Manchester United to look forward to in the round of 32. Erik ten Hag's United side have been in scintillating form since the World Cup, but could a Barcelona side how have conceded seven league goals this season be too hard to beat?

Perhaps in better form than both of those sides though, is Mikel Arteta's Arsenal. The Gunners are currently 7/2 favourites to win the tournament and will be relishing the chance to bring home their first piece of major European silverware.

In the video above, Graham Hunter and Steve Freeth discuss all of Europe's top performers, as well as who could be worth keeping an eye out for in the second half of the season.
