Claressa Shields (4/5) and Savannah Marshall (1/1) have both vowed to end Saturday night’s hugely anticipated bout inside the distance after clashing at their final pre-fight press conference.
The two unbeaten middleweights are finally set to end their decade-long feud at London’s O2 Arena this weekend, with the winner fully unifying the 165lb division as well as capturing the WBC’s specially commissioned ‘Elizabethan Belt’, produced in memory of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
The two fighters, who have previously met at amateur level, traded insults as they went head-to-head for the first time this week, with both fighters signalling their intent of winning the fight in explosive fashion.
“You are petrified that I am going to knock you out, and I am going to do that,” the hard-hitting Shields declared.
“I don’t like you that much. Knockouts don’t matter, wins matter… but I’m going to finish you,” Shields, the multiple three-weight world champion, snapped back!
Whilst Shields is more renowned for her technical abilities, Marshall, who already boasts 10 stoppage victories, is undoubtedly the more likely of the two to prevail by way of knockout.
We’ve boosted the odds of her adding to that tally at the weekend too…
