At the start of last November, Israel Adesanya had amassed a 23-1 MMA record, was unbeaten at middleweight and had made five straight title defences.
The Last Stylebender was even being considered amongst the all-time greats of the game and was looking nigh-on unbeatable at 185lbs.
Enter: Alex Pereira. The man who'd beaten Adesanya twice in kickboxing bouts stepped into the cage looking to dethrone the champion.
And despite being 39-37 down on the scorecards going into the final round, the Brazilian did just that.

The betting for this weekend's bout could hardly be tighter, with the newly-crowned champion 11/10 to win, with Adesanya 8/11 to reclaim the belt.
