On 4th June 2016, against all the odds, Michael Bisping beat Luke Rockhold to win the UFC middleweight title.
In doing so, he became the first British UFC champion in history, with him finally getting his one and only title shot in the twilight of his career after several near misses.
After winning the Cage Warriors title, Bisping moved over to the UFC as a 10-0 professional, extending his winning streak.
But as he moved up the rankings, he fell short to Rashad Evans, then Dan Henderson, and then Chael Sonnen. It looked like Bisping would never quite reach contender status.
But after getting the call-up to fight Rockhold - a man who'd already beaten Bisping - on short notice, The Count grabbed it with both hands, knocking the champion out in the first round.
It was the validation of years of tireless work for Bisping, finally climbing to the top of the UFC mountain.
Bisping has since hung up the gloves, establishing a new reputation as one of the best analysts in the business.
