Our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt looks ahead to this weekend's undisputed super-middleweight world title showdown and picks out his best bets as Savannah Marshall bids to become a two-weight world champion.
The main event this Saturday in Manchester will see Savannah Marshall (2/9) challenge the super-middleweight queen Franchon Crews-Dezurn (10/3) for her undisputed 168lb division titles.
For Marshall, this will be her first bout since that points loss against Claressa Shields last year, and she is straight back into another big fight against the brash, loud and confident American.
Crews-Dezurn won her belts on the undercard of Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano last year and whilst she has touched down in the UK extremely confident of retaining her straps, I actually fancy Marshall to get the job done!
Crews-Dezurn is very open, she is easy to hit, can be very sloppy and will leave a lot of gaps for Marshall to exploit, which doesn’t bode well against a good puncher and somebody who undoubtedly carries that knockout power.
Pound-for-pound, she is arguably the hardest hitting fighter across all of women’s boxing, and I am backing her to get the stoppage on Saturday night, which has been BOOSTED to 11/2.
That has got to be my bet for this weekend’s top of the bill fight on BOXXER’s card.
Fight Outcome (5 Way):
Savannah Marshall by KO, TKO or Disqualification
Was 5/1 >> Now 11/2
Round Group Betting (2):
Savannah Marshall to win in Rounds 7 - 8
Was 14/1 >> Now 18/1
