European Football Discussion Show

Steve Freeth, Kelly Somers and Graham Hunter discuss the upcoming Champions League and Europa League semi-finals, as well as West Ham's hopes in the Europa Conference League.

The Champions League semi-finals have this year served up two mouth-watering ties, with tournament holders Real Madrid to face Premier League leaders Manchester City as well as an all-Italian affair between neighbours AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Pep Guardiola's in-form Manchester City side are favoured at 1/4 to reach the final against 14-time winners of the Champions League Real Madrid (11/4), with Los Blancos having triumphed against the same opponents in a classic semi-final encounter last season.

The other semi-final will see fierce rivals Milan and Inter face off in European competition for the first time since 2003, with the Rossoneri prevailing in the Champions League semis on away goals, and this year's showdown looks set to be equally closely contested.

The Europa League semi-finals are also not to be missed, as Italian giants Juventus attempt to overcome six-time competition winners Sevilla, and Jose Mourinho's Roma facing off with Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen.

Juventus, typically involved in the Champions League, will have their hands tied against a Sevilla outfit who, despite struggling in the bottom half of La Liga this season, have continued to thrive in a European competition they have developed a habit of winning in recent times.

Roma v Bayer Leverkusen will see one of football's most decorated managers go to battle with one of the most promising young coaches in Europe, as Jose Mourinho prepares to face off with Xabi Alonso with the pair having previously worked together at Real Madrid.

In the Europa Conference League, David Moyes' West Ham will vie for a place in the final against AZ Alkmaar, with the Dutch side currently sat in fourth place in the Eredivisie.

West Ham reached the semi-finals of the Europa League last season, losing to the eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt in the last four, and the Irons will be desperate to go one step further to contest the Europa Conference League final in Prague in June.

Should Moyes' charges prevail against AZ Alkmaar in the semis, they will be faced with the winner of Fiorentina v Basel in the final.
