Ireland Men’s Rugby Team

Formed in 1874, the Ireland Men's Rugby Union Team represents the entire island of Ireland in international rugby and is governed by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU).

Ireland have enjoyed considerable success in the Six Nations, winning the tournament on 16 occasions, including four Grand Slams.

The team has reached the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup on six occasions, with their best performances coming in 1987 and 2011.

Having opened in 2010, the Aviva Stadium has witnessed the brilliance of modern Irish stars like Brian O'Driscoll, Jonny Sexton, Ronan O'Gara, and Paul O'Connell.
