York City have already made a number of summer signings as they begin to prepare for life back in the Football League.
The Minstermen clinched the National League title at rivals Rochdale in one of the most incredible finishes to a season in recent memory and the club seem desperate to make their mark when they compete in League Two for the first time in 10 years.
It was an extremely busy evening at the LNER Community Stadium on Friday 26th June as York City announced the signing of four new players.
Free agent Zach Medley was the first signing of the day - a 25-year-old centre-back who has experienced across England, Scotland and Belgium.
Just over an hour later and it was confirmed midfielder Arthur Rhead had put pen to paper on a contract with the League Two newcomers. The 26-year-old had been released by Colchester United after making over 150 appearances for the U's.
The third permanent signing of the day came in the form of Newcastle United's Charlie McArthur, a 21-year-old defender who has already enjoyed loan spells at Carlisle United and Airdrieonians.
In their final X post of the day, York City confirmed defender Zak Johnson had re-joined the club for an undisclosed fee from Sunderland.
The centre-back enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell at York City last season - evidenced by the fact he started the final 23 matches of the season to help the club to the title.
The capture of the 21-year-old takes York City's total summer signings to seven and we still have four days left in June.
As well as a number of incomings, York City have also managed to tie striker Josh Stones down to a five-year deal after he had been the subject of intense transfer speculation.
The 22-year-old scored 18 goals in 40 league games last season - including the dramatic equaliser in the 13th minute of stoppage time to clinch the title at Rochdale - and it will be fascinating to see how he and York City fare in the EFL.
