Wrexham are on the verge of completing a deal to sign defender Joe Worrall from Championship rivals Burnley.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has confirmed that the player is due for a medical in Wales today.
Whilst Worrall had been linked with a loan move earlier in the window, the deal to join Wrexham will be a permanent one.
The move will bring an end to an injury-plagued spell at Burnley following his arrival at Turf Moor in 2024.
Worrall made just 27 appearances for the club as he struggled with injury problems in the last two years.
The centre-back made a name for himself at boyhood club Nottingham Forest, where he featured over 200 times and he was captain as Forest beat Huddersfield Town to win promotion to the Premier League in 2022.
He then captained Forest as they maintained their top-flight status in the following campaign.
Wrexham will be hoping that any fitness concerns are behind him as they look to finish in the Championship play-off positions this season.
