Hollywood owned Wrexham have reportedly reached an agreement with Ligue 1 outfit Angers for defender Jacques Ekomié.
Ekomié, 23, joined Angers from fellow French outfit Bordeaux in 2024 and has gone on to feature 51 times in Ligue 1.
A 21-cap Gabon international, Ekomié plays predominantly as a left back, but has shown the ability to feature as a centre back when required.
Surprisingly, the full back is yet to notch his first goal contribution for the French side, having failed to score or assist across his 55 matches for Le SCO.
Despite this, Ekomié is highly rated, attracting interest from a number of clubs including West Ham United, Hamburg, Sunderland, Besiktas and Shalke, however it now seems that Wrexham have won the race for his signature.
According to journalist Santi Aouna via Foot Mercato, Wrexham have agreed a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit to sign the 23-year-old.
It is said that Hamburg were unable to match the offer tabled by the Red Dragons, with earlier reports citing a valuation of €10m for the Gabon international.
Should the deal go through, Ekomié would be Wrexham's fourth signing of an uncharactaristically quiet summer, which has seen Danny Imray, Anthony Patterson and Ben Whiteman make the move to North Wales for around €20m.
Phil Parkinson's side narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs last season, but have started poorly so far this campaign, drawing both of their first two matches against sides they would have expected to beat.
