One of the most iconic rounds on the World Rally Championship calendar, Rally de Portugal hosts the sixth round of an absorbing 2026 season.
Four-time championship runner-up Elfyn Evans returned to the summit of the standings following the Rally Islas Canarias as he finished second behind reigning WRC champion Sebastien Ogier.
The Welshman picked up the maximum 10 Super Sunday points as he was imperious in the concluding Power Stage, and a return to the podium was a much-needed boost to his title aspirations following retirements in Kenya and Croatia.
Evans displaced Toyota team-mate Takamoto Katsuta at the top, who was unable to extend his winning streak to three rallies as he finished fourth in Gran Canaria.
Sami Pajari maintained his rich form with a fourth consecutive podium as Toyota dominated once again; the GR Yaris Rally1 claimed all 17 stages run on the smooth asphalt roads.
Portugal's gravel presents an entirely different challenge, however, and the Hyundai trio of Thierry Neuville, Adrien Fourmaux and Dani Sordo will be hopeful it levels the playing field after being dominated last time out.
Oliver Solberg showcased excellent speed throughout the Rally Islas Canarias weekend but was forced to retire after a crash on SS17. The Swede has frequently gone wheel-to-wheel with nine-time champion Ogier and he will be hoping for a change of fortunes as he enters Rally de Portugal as the favourite.
