2024 saw WRC's nearly man Thierry Neuville banish the frustration of the previous 15 years as he concluded the campaign by clinching his first career World Championship title.
As the defending champion, Neuville is the man to beat and yet the Belgian faces stern competition, not least from Finnish sensation and two-time world champion Kalle Rovanperä.
Rovanperä will fill the driving seat of his Toyota GR Yaris on a full-time basis after a year in which he participated in the Porsche Carrera Cup and tested an F1 car with Red Bull Racing at Spielberg.
The 24-year-old looked imperious in 2023 and Rovanperä, the son of WRC race winner Harri, is eager to retain the title that he voluntarily surrendered.
Other contenders include 2019 world champion Ott Tänak, who was forced to settle for third last term as he finished 42 points adrift of Hyundai team-mate Neuville.
Elfyn Evans will be flying the flag for Great Britain once again as he seeks his maiden world title.
