The Rocket's absence from the game has been extended, leaving the draw wide open should Trump fail in his quest for a fourth World Grand Prix title, with the likes of Mark Selby, Kyren Wilson, Mark Allen, Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy all bidding for success in Leicester.
Trump will take on Gary Wilson in the first round, with either Jack Lisowski or Zhang Anda waiting in the second round should he progress.
From there, Trump would likely face Si Jiahui or Ding Junhui, with one of the three Marks in Williams, Selby and Allen potentially awaiting in the semi-final.
