1983 World Darts Champion Keith Deller MBE has picked out a 13/2 Bet Builder for the World Darts Championship third round match between Jonny Clayton and Daryl Gurney.
Jonny Clayton v Daryl Gurney
Friday 27th December (14:00)
Seventh seed Jonny Clayton overcame a stubborn Mickey Mansell in a final leg decider to book his place in the last 32, while Daryl Gurney edged out Florian Hempel 3-2 in a high-quality match to set-up this intriguing last 32 showdown.
Clayton was taken into deep waters by Mansell but will be delighted by the way in which he held his nerve to see the job through to completion, even if he was a little too inconsistent for my liking.
Gurney on the other hand was superb, and he showed flashes of the player that we all saw and loved a few years ago - he's a top talent when he isn't beating himself up so much, and I actually fancy him to prevail on Friday.
My three-part Bet Builder for the game features Gurney to win the match as well as the Irishman landing the highest checkout of the match, just as he did in his last outing.
I am also including Clayton to land the most 180s as he probably boasts slightly superior scoring power, although I just feel his inconsistencies will let him down against somebody who is toeing the oche with a tad more solidity and confidence.
A Darts Bet Builder is essentially a multi-leg bet which allows you to compile a variety of selections from a single match.
Available on a wide number of sports, now including Darts just in time for the World Championship, a Bet Builder consists of a minimum two selections, with the odds of your Bet Builder increasing with the more selections that are added, leading to higher potential payouts.
