Gerwyn Price commences his 2025 World Darts Championship with a second round clash against Keane Barry on Monday night and 1983 World Darts Champion Keith Deller MBE shares his best bets for the match.
Gerwyn Price v Keane Barry
Monday 16th December (22:15)
Keane Barry had a fantastic game against Kim Huybrechts on Sunday night and that will have done his confidence the world of good as he takes on Gerwyn Price.
Huybrechts hit 10 180s but he still wasn't good enough to topple the young Irishman, who had some excellent ton-plus finishes.
The pace of the game really suited Barry. In this encounter, Price will look to slow it down, which will obviously suit the Iceman and Barry not so much.
I like the look of the 180s selection in this contest, while I also fancy Price to exceed the 97.5 average. The 2021 world champion has had a quiet time this year but it is the World Championship and we know he can perform in this tournament and play well in sets.
I'm also backing Price to make a strong start in the match. If he wins the bull, he's got a superb chance of claiming the first set. I think Gezzy will do well this week and I'm taking him to beat Barry.
