After his impressive run to the quarter-finals in 2022, Callan Rydz will be looking for an improvement on his previous two visits to the Alexandra Palace and he has the tools to make a statement in his opening match against Romeo Grbavac.

Grbavac has enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2024 and will make his Worlds debut after successfully coming through the East Europe Qualifier at the end of November, but this is a difficult challenge for the Croatian to overcome.

When he's on his game, Rydz is a brilliant dart player and I think he should be comfortable against his first round opponent. Priced at 2/9 to win the match, I can see the Geordie winning pretty convincingly.

There's better value to be found elsewhere and in my Bet Builder, I'm siding with Rydz to produce the most 180s and hit the highest checkout.

I also like the look of the First Set Double with Rydz claiming the opening set and hitting the most 180s in the process, which on its own is priced at 7/5.
