World Cup of Darts Tips

To Win Outright:
England

England - To Win Outright @ 4/7

Luke Humphries

For the first time in its history, the World Cup of Darts will be played out in a sole double format this year, and for me, there is only one winner - England!

On paper, the team of Luke Humphries and Michael Smith looks almost unbeatable.

The scoring power alone is scary, and I fully expect that when one of the two has a little dip in a match, the other one will come to the fore and carry them through.

Between the two of them they have the lot.

180 scoring power, three-figure checkouts and the composure that is going to be needed to come through those nerve-jangling moments.

They are two world champions, both of whom are at the peak of their powers, and I just can't look beyond them.

If they are at it, then they win the World Cup; it's as simple as that, and the fact that they are odds-on suggests the bookmakers think likewise.

World Cup of Darts Each-Way Tips

To Win Outright:
Germany (E/W)

Germany - To Win Outright (E/W)@ 9/1

Gabriel Clemens

I know that England don't offer too much value at 4/7, but as I have said, they look by far the strongest nation in Germany this weekend and it would be a surprise if they weren't to prevail.

That said, there are a few other nations who are well worth taking a look at in each-way terms, whereby we will pay out at half of the odds if the team you select reaches the final.

One of the two nations I am tipping up to go deep once more, are Germany - the host nation, who reached the semi-final stage 12 months ago.

Martin Schindler has shown huge improvements over the past year or two, and he is rightly regarded as a one of the top boys now - he is capable of beating anybody on his day, and for me, he is going to really help Gabriel Clemens with the tournament now adopting a sole double format.

Gabriel has gone off the boil a little bit as of late, but with the German crowd behind them, and with Martin playing so well, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see the two of them go one step further than last year and reach the final.

At 9/1, this German team carries plenty of value.

To Win Outright:
Northern Ireland (E/W)

Northern Ireland - To Win Outright (E/W) @ 25/1

My second outsider to look out for is Northern Ireland - a team consisting of Josh Rock and Brendan Dolan.

Josh has recently won a European Tour event and after bursting on to the scene a couple of years ago, he is really starting to find his feet now on the big stage.

He is full of confidence, throwing exceptionally well and I just feel that he and Brendan will complement each other perfectly.

Brenda has had a bit of a resurgence over the past few months, winning a Pro Tour event for the first time in a while, and I have a sneaky feeling that they could cause one or two upsets in Germany this weekend.

Josh Rock possesses all of the talent in the world and Brendan is a wily, experienced campaigner - they have the potential to gel together exceptionally well in a doubles format.

If they can get off to a solid start, which I expect they will do, then at 25/1 they have to be worth taking a closer look at with an each-way bet.
