Brisbane Heat defeated Sydney Thunder by nine wickets in the Challenger to set up a mouthwatering finale between the top two seeds.

The Melbourne Renegades advanced straight to the final over the Heat due to their superior net run rate and both teams ended the league phase in scintillating form, winning five matches in a row to secure their places in the knockout stage.

Brisbane maintained that form into the Challenger as the Thunder had no answer to the batting prowess of Georgia Redmayne and Jemimah Rodrigues, who helped secure victory with 28 balls to spare.

Though Melbourne narrowly edge favouritism, their record against Brisbane is a concern with the Heat winning five of the previous six meetings between the two teams.
