Santiago Bueno will reportedly leave Wolves in the coming days after agreeing a deal to join Mexican side Club America.
The Uruguay international had been expected to depart Molineux this summer but a move did not materialise prior to last week's transfer deadline.
Any possibility that Bueno could remain in the West Midlands as Wolves attempt to secure an immediate return to the top flight quickly dissipated as the 27-year-old was omitted from their 25-man Championship squad.
According to a report from Mexican outlet Americayya, Bueno has agreed to join Club America on a season-long loan.
The deal is also said to include an option for the Liga MX club to sign Beuno permanently next summer.
After emerging from Barcelona's famed academy, Beuno departed the Catalan club in 2019 without having made a competitive appearance for the Blaugrana.
It was at Girona that the centre-back's talents started to emerge.
He was a regular feature as the club were promoted back to the top flight of Spanish football in 2021-22, playing every minute of their successful play-off campaign.
He went on to make 34 appearances in La Liga the following season before joining Wolves in the summer of 2023 for a reported £8.5million fee.
Over the course of three seasons at Molineux made 85 appearances in all competitions.
His three goals last season were enough for him to be the club's joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League as they finished bottom of the table.
