Wolverhampton Wanderers have rebuffed a £3.5 million bid from Anderlecht for midfielder Boubacar Traore, according to local reports.
It's understood the Belgian giants made their move this week although it was quickly dismissed with the Championship club valuing the player significantly higher.
The Express & Star have claimed the player is now likely to stay at Molineux this season, although an improved second offer isn't being ruled out.
Traore made his first start of the season for Wolves in their 2-0 EFL Cup triumph over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night having previously been linked with a move to Portsmouth.
The Mali international, who signed from French club Metz in 2023, has made 43 appearances for the club during his time in the West Midlands.
After cementing himself as a regular starter in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign, he featured just three times in all competitions for Wolves the following year before being granted a loan move back to Metz last summer.
The 25-year-old went on to play 20 times in Ligue 1, scoring a solitary goal in their 3-2 loss against Paris FC.
News of Traore's expected stay comes amidst speculation that Wolves are one of a handful of Championship sides eyeing up former Burnley ace Josh Brownhill.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who starred for the Clarets when they won promotion to the top-flight in 2024/25, has spent the past year in Saudi Arabia with Al-Shabab but could be tempted to make a return to English football.
According to reports online, the playmaker is assessing his options ahead of next Tuesday's transfer deadline.
