One of the oldest and most iconic darts competitions returns to our TV screens this weekend and it's no surprise that world champion Luke Littler remains favourite to reign supreme.
The Winmau World Masters has held a permanent residence on the BDO / WDF circuit since 1974, but is undertaking its debut under the PDC umbrella in 2025, replacing the Masters event which was won by Stephen Bunting 12 months ago.
'The Bullet' has enjoyed an inspired five or six weeks, reaching the semi-finals of the World Darts Championship as well as capturing the Bahrain Darts Masters earlier this month, and he will have his backers to add to the two Winmau World Masters titles he landed during his trophy-laden spell in the BDO.
Littler however, appears to be the man to beat, with the recent crowned Ally Pally champion searching for his first post World Darts Championship success after being beaten in the quarter-finals and semi-finals in Bahrain and Den Bosch recently.
This will be 'The Nuke's' first crack at the historic Winmau World Masters title, and he will fancy his chances of maintaining his hot-streak, having already added the Premier League, Grand Slam and World Championship to his fast-growing honours list.
World number one Luke Humphries is also high in the betting despite his disappointing form this year, whilst Michael van Gerwen is another player hoping history repeats itself after winning this event, for the first and only time, back in 2006.
