Stan Moody is without doubt one of the most exciting prospects in snooker.
Moody, who is making his debut at this year's World Snooker Championship, is the first British teenager since Judd Trump in 2007 to make an appearance at the tournament.
Although he is in the very early stages of his career, Moody has defeated some of best on the planet, including the likes of Ali Carter, Kyren Wilson and John Higgins.
Moody hails from Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Moody is 19 years old and will celebrate his 20th birthday on 14th September 2026.
The Englishman is currently ranked number 44 in the world, just above 2023 world champion Luca Brecel.
Moody is making his debut at the World Snooker Championship in 2026.
Despite this being his Crucible debut, he has featured in other notable tournaments, reaching the quarter-final of the British Open in 2025.
Moody is yet to win a title as a professional but won the 2023 WSF Junior Open as an amateur with a 5-1 win over Liam Pullen.
The 19-year-old also reached the WSF Open final in the same year but was defeated 5-0 by China's Ma Hailong.
When reaching the quarter-final of the Wuhan Open this year, Moody registered a landmark shock success over home favourite Ding Junhui. He also reached the last eight of the British Open, beating both Kyren Wilson and John Higgins.
Moody has made an eye-catching start to his Crucible career, earning the praise of snooker legend Steve Davis, who said: "I know it's early days, but it looks like a star is already being born."
