Former Union Saint-Gilloise and Monaco head coach Sebastien Pocognoli is set to become the new manager of Scotland.
The SFA have been conducting their search for a new manager for several weeks after Steve Clarke resigned following Scotland's group stage exit at the World Cup.
Several names have been linked to the vacancy, including Roberto Martinez and David Moyes, but Scotland's data-driven pursuit of Clarke's successor has led them down Pocognoli's path.
With Pocognoli set to take over at Hampden Park, we've assessed the Belgian's managerial credentials.
Background & achievements
A Standard Liege fan favourite during a 17-year playing career, Pocognoli was a left-back who spent three years at West Bromwich Albion and had a loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion in 2016/17.
Winning 13 caps for Belgium, Pocognoli hung up his boots in 2021 and immediately transitioned into coaching. Appointed head coach of Union Saint-Gilloise's Under-21 team, he subsequently had spells working in Genk's youth system and managed Belgium's Under-18 side.
In July 2024, he returned to Union Saint-Gilloise to succeed Alexander Blessin as head coach. The Belgian Pro League side had enjoyed a remarkable ascent under Tony Bloom's ownership, but they scaled new heights with Pocognoli at the helm.
Finishing third in the regular season behind Genk and Club Brugge, Pocognoli's side won nine of their final 10 matches during the championship play-offs, including a final day triumph over Gent to seal Union Saint-Gilloise's first league title in 90 years.
USG maintained their winning form into the following season under Pocognoli, winning seven of their first nine matches and recording a maiden UEFA Champions League triumph with a 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
USG's form resulted in Pocognoli being headhunted for the managerial vacancy at Monaco in October to replace Adi Hutter.
Enduring a difficult start to his tenure which saw Monaco suffer seven defeats in eight from November into January, the Monegasques turned the corner in February, winning seven matches in succession which included a 3-1 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes - avenging their 5-4 aggregate defeat to the Parisians in the UEFA Champions League.
However, one win from their last six saw Pocognoli's side slip out of top four contention in Ligue 1 and they finished the campaign in seventh, missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification.
Pocognoli was sacked after just eight months with the Principality outfit, who named Filipe Luis as his replacement.

Formation, tactics & style of play
Pocognoli's brand of football is a significant shift from the pragmatism witnessed during Clarke's Scotland reign.
UEFA Champions League winner Louis van Gaal had a major influence on his coaching philosophy, and Pocognoli has also cited his former Belgium team-mate Vincent Kompany as an inspiration on how he wants his team to play football.
Advocating a modern and bold style, the 38-year-old shifted between a 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 during his time in Monaco and he's not afraid to vary his shape depending on the opposition.
Pocognoli likes his players to press relentlessly from the front, showcasing dominance without the ball. Possession is a key component of his tactical blueprint, but his USG and Monaco sides did have the tendency to attack quickly when opportunities presented themselves.
Pocognoli's proactive and ambitious style may endear him to the Tartan Army, but it will be fascinating to see how his methods marry up to the current Scotland squad.
