Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach until June 2027 with the option of an extra year.
The dismissal of Erik ten Hag was looking increasingly inevitable, and once the Dutchman's reign was eventually ended, United moved swiftly for Amorim, with personal terms quickly agreed.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed interim head coach and will be in the dugout for the Red Devils' clash with Chelsea.
Ruben Amorim will officially take charge of Manchester United on 11th November, the day after United's Premier League meeting with Leicester City.
Ruud van Nistelrooy led the side out for the EFL Cup tie with Leicester and will be in the dugout for Sunday's Premier League fixture with Chelsea. Van Nistelrooy will also oversee the Europa League game against PAOK before his final game in charge against Leicester on 10th November.
Ruben Amorim's first game in charge of Manchester United will be away to Ipswich Town on Sunday 24th November.
Taking over on 11th November at the start of the international break will mean Amorim gets two weeks to work with his players before taking charge of his first United game.
